This beautifully refurbished cottage is located just a mile and half to Newby Bridge at the southern tip of Lake Windermere and it provides a superb base to explore the Lake District National Park, and has many attractions within close proximity to the cottage itself.
Walking through the front door you enter a handy porch area, perfect for storing your outdoor clothes and boots. You enter a modern, bright fully equipped dining kitchen with a farmhouse table forming the central showpiece of this room. This is a great space for you to gather and enjoy a meal after an enjoyable day exploring this beautiful area.
From the kitchen you enter the living room which has an instantly welcoming feel about it. The dual aspect windows provide an abundance of natural light. There's also a wood burning stove making this the perfect spot to relax on those chilly nights and curl up on the comfortable sofas. There's also a large flat screen TV with Sky satellite channels including movies and sports, and DVD player for you to enjoy if you fancy it.
Back through the kitchen are the open stairs to the first floor. On the first floor there are 3 double rooms, each tastefully decorated in their own individual style but all in keeping with this beautiful cottage. The iron beds and white linen are perfect for a lazy morning when you're on your holiday.
The modern bathroom is also on the first floor, this provides a relaxing bath with overhead shower.
Outside there's a fenced patio area with table and chairs, a fantastic space to enjoy your morning coffee or favourite tipple while you plan activities for the next day.
All six guests staying at Pinewood Cottage can enjoy complimentary passes at the Cascades Health and Fitness Club which located just a short drive away (at the Whitewater Hotel). These can be used every day between 9am-5pm. The club has an indoor heated swimming pool, sauna, steam room, jacuzzi, air-conditioned gymnasium, squash and a tennis court. This is a fantastic addition for you to enjoy during your holiday and provides a perfect place for those rainy days.

There's also a choice of eateries and beautiful hotels at the lakeside or at Newby Bridge.
Just 15 minutes drive away you'll find the attractive village of Cartmel. Cartmel is home to the UK's smallest race course, but don't let that put you off as it holds fantastic race days throughout the summer months. The village also has the ancient 12th-century priory and is home to sticky toffee pudding too of course. There's also some cute artisan shops you can browse in. If you fancy fine dining try the infamous L’enclume or sister restaurant Rogan and Co which both have Michelin stars, but do make sure you book in advance.
On the doorstep of Pinewood Cottage you'll find the 19th Century Bobbin Mill, which is a working museum making bobbins for the textiles in Yorkshire and Lancashire.
