Description

Foxglove Cottage is a lovely 18th Century traditional stone terraced cottage in the small village of Greystoke. With a pub, village shop and even its own castle Greystoke is a beautiful little village perfectly located on the edge of the Lake District National park to explore this stunning area. The village is centred around a green and has the unusual facility just a short walk from the cottage of its own heated open-air swimming pool, which can be enjoyed from May until September which is a tremendous perk to have on your doorstep for enjoyment in the summer months.

The cottage is full of character with original oak beams and ceilings and a beautiful period open fire. There is also a basket of logs provided for your stay so you can create that beguiling atmosphere of a real fire for relaxation after your days exploring.

Downstairs there is an open plan dining room and lounge with comfortable seating for all your guests, smart TV and open fire. There are plenty of games and puzzles provided to keep you occupied if you fancy switching off the TV off and relaxing by the fire with your friends and family. The kitchen is just off this space and is well-equipped for your needs during your stay. Also on this floor is the spacious family bathroom with bath and overhead shower.

Upstairs we have the two bedrooms, a double and a twin, both are comfortable and spacious with plenty of storage and with character beams.

Outside there is an enclosed garden with patio area, it's a delightful sheltered spot, an ideal place to unwind with a glass of your favourite tipple.

Aside from the delightful village with walking from the door, you are in a fantastic location to explore both the Lakes and dip into Yorkshire too. The Eden valley which is s fantastic area for cycling is not far and this cottage provides secure bike and hobby storage.

Just twenty minutes away you can also reach Pooley bridge at the Northern tip of Ullswater and you can embark of one of the historic steam cruisers that have been in operating for over 120 years which will take you to key attractions on the lake such as Glen Ridding and Air falls. Enjoy the glorious vistas from the water or take a guided walk from Glenridding or for keen hikers there are some challenging walks to Helvellyn. You can also visit Aira Force the most dramatic of lakeland waterfalls all part of a Victorian landscaped Woodland Park. Return at the end of the day from your holiday activities to Foxglove cottage, relax, rewind and enjoy this cosy cottage and location.
