Bottom Shop started life as a Joiner's workshop, along Elterwater's main village street. Perfectly located for walking in all directions and just a short stroll to the Britannia Inn. Close to many of the areas attractions, Bottom Shop's cosy and traditional style has kept people coming back year on year.
Entrance is into an open plan /hallway (with hooks for coats and space for muddy boots) and fitted open plan shaker style kitchen.
The Living/Dining area offers ample space for three tired walkers to relax after a day on the fells with its flat screen Smart TV which has terrestrial channels catch up services and Sky Now entertainment package. The log burner keeps you warm and cosy on winter nights, and in summer you can open the back door on to a large shared garden and orchard with private patio with table and chairs and a lovely view. Guests are welcome to bring a pet to Bottom Shop, and can enjoy the shared garden area at the rear.
There is a large double bedroom with king-size Sleigh bed, wardrobe and dressing table. The single bedroom has a single bed, a built in wardrobe and overlooks the garden.
Both the kitchen and shower room are compact but well laid out for ease of use.

Bottom shop was a very cosy property, beautifully situated in the heart of the Lake District with walks of all levels from the door. It has an excellent pub on the doorstep and the Eltermere Inn comes highly recommended for very good food. The cottage was very warm and also had a lovely wood burning stove for those snowy nights. The views from the back garden were a very pleasant surprise with lots of plants and bird life and I even saw a stoat in the garden. Would certainly return. The office staff were very friendly and really helpful Thanks
Fantastic in every way
The holiday Cottage was excellent in all ways. We love the area and a Elterwater in particular as it offers lovely walks on the doorstep, a great pub and fantastic scenery in whatever weather. Just the perfect spot for us.
This was our second stay at Bottom Shop and we all loved it again and will also book again when next coming to The Lakes. Bottom Shop is perfectly situated to park the car and not have use it during the stay, fab walks, pub and helpful GL staff on hand.
Very quaint cottage. Fabulous location with a wonderful garden. Felt like home.
