Formerly known as 9 Lingmoor View
On the edge of the village of Chapel Stile stands a row of traditional Quarryman cottages, built around 1870 to house workers in the nearby slate quarry and gunpowder works. Lovingly looked after by its owners Holly Tree Cottage is warm & comfortable with all you could need for a relaxing break. Combined with superb views across the valley towards Lingmoor and The Langdale Pikes it has been a favourite of visitors for many years. Entering the cottage by the lounge door brings you into a cosy room with twin sofas and an open fire. Beyond the lounge is the newly fitted kitchen/diner which has all you could need to cook for the family. At the rear of the cottage is the recently refurbished main bathroom (with shower over) & also a drying closet which comes in very handy for the Lake District's occasional rainy days, with access to the back of the property. Upstairs there are two bedrooms, the master room features a king-size bed and has views across the valley to Lingmoor Fell, there is also an ensuite WC and hand wash basin. The twin room has 3ft beds & an ensuite shower room.
We want our holiday cottages to be a 'home for home'. All the beds are made up ready for you, towels are included so no need to bring those, and shower mats are also provided. Two tea towels and a set of oven gloves/oven cloth will be in the kitchen along with a starter pack that includes: washing up liquid, kitchen roll, toilet roll, basic cleaning products, a bin bag in each bin and a few dishwasher tabs. This is just to 'start you off'; you will need to buy your own once these have run out.
Holly Tree Cottage has private parking for 1 car directly outside the door. It also has an outdoor seating area which offers one of the best views to be found anywhere in Langdale. Cottages often reflect how much their owners care for them, and this one is a true testament to how much effort John and Hazel put in to ensuring their visitors love the Lake District as much as they do.

Such a lovely property ... very well appointed and comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay at Holly Tree. Always a pleasure to deal with the team at Good Life.
The cottage was lovely & cosy during our stay in December. The Christmas tree & decorations made the break even more special.
A really lovely home from home. Excellent agency and quality cottages.
Lovely property, perfectly located for exploring the Langdale Pikes. Beautiful views from the front windows. Short walk to shop and pub.
Perfect location for a walking holiday. Thank goodness for the Langdale co-op, what a gem.
