Description

Bluebell Brook is a gorgeous Victorian Lake District holiday cottage for four people, it's perfectly located as is only 5 minutes walk from the centre of Windermere or less than 10 minutes walk to Bowness on Windermere. 

When you arrive at Bluebell Brook the entrance porch leads into the pretty living room. Here you'll find comfy seating and a beautiful fireplace with log burner, this is the perfect spot if you need to de-stress while on holiday in the Lake District. The living room is a cosy and atmospheric space, so if you spend the day exploring you can definitely relax with a glass of wine or hot chocolate in the evenings. There's a selection of books, games and a smart TV for you to enjoy throughout your stay.

Through the living room you you'll find the kitchen and dining area. The kitchen is well equipped, so you can cook up some culinary delights at Bluebell Brook if you want. The kitchen features a gas hob, electric oven, microwave and dishwasher...nobody staying here gets the short straw and has to wash up. The dining table is in the kitchen and seats 4. If you want to go a little more 'al-fresco' the french doors open onto a juliet balcony which overlooks Mill Beck, the beck (or stream) which runs directly behind the property. The balcony provides a peaceful setting, so you can enjoy the sounds of the water while you're busy in the kitchen. Alternatively, you could have a coffee and read a newspaper at the small table (seating 2) next to the Mill Beck which is accessible from the lower ground floor (down some steps beyond the kitchen).

On the lower ground floor you'll find the beautifully fitted family bathroom, fully tiled with a marvellous roll top bath (and shower attachment), so make sure you bring the bubble bath!

On the first floor there's two bedrooms, which are decorated individually and they complement the cottage style beautifully. The twin room to the front of the cottage offers character and charm with wrought iron beds and traditional touches. The double bedroom at the rear of the property has a king size bed and overlooks the beck, so the gentle flow of Mill Beck can be heard. This bedroom has a lovely en-suite shower room, a handy addition to increase comfort during your stay at Bluebell Brook. There is ample storage space in both bedrooms so you can unpack and truly feel at home here.

Bluebell Brook is really well located, it's tucked away in a quite street but is only a 5 minutes walk to the centre of the town of Windermere, which has an array of shops, bars and restaurants. Or, if you require something a little closer to home, the Brookside public house is only 20 metres away. Brookside offers good pub food and drink with a lovely open fire and a beer garden for those sunny days.

Bluebell Brook is less than 10 minute walk to the top of Bowness on Windermere, so you can explore the shops, cafes and restaurants here with ease too. If you fancy leaving your car you can take advantage of great public transport links to explore the Lake District National Park. From Bowness on Windermere you can catch one of the many Windermere Cruises and have a tour of Lake Windermere. You have the opportunity to hop on and off throughout the day if you choose to stop in Ambleside or on the other side of the Lake to explore further afield.

Complimentary wifi is available throughout the property. On street parking is outside the property on a first come basis.

NB: Being a traditional 1850s cottage there is a low head height and a few uneven steps on the stairs. Mill Beck at the rear the property is protected by 4-foot railings, therefore children should not be left unaccompanied in the kitchen at any time as the balcony is 5 foot high.
