THE LAKE DISTRICT - OFFICIALLY A WORLD HERITAGE SITE
We are lucky to be the home of England's highest mountain, Scafell Pike and deepest lake, Wastwater.....but now we also get to boast about the fact the Lake District National Park has been awarded World Heritage Site status too! The decision was made by UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) and has been officially announced. It seems we are not the only ones who love the stunning lakes and dramatic fell lined landscapes. The changing seasons means there is never a view that looks the same from one month to the next, and we enjoy welcoming back holidaymakers year after year as they enjoy the Lake District and our holiday cottages.
If you would like to see what all the fuss is about come and stay in one of our self catering holiday properties.
