Description

High Croft is a delightful detached elevated bungalow with wonderful views to the estuary and Lakeland Fells situated in the south Lakeland village Arnside which is a designated area of outstanding natural beauty.

Set over two floors this spacious light filled property is all about the views and wonderful location for walking from the door or exploring the coast, estuary and south lakes. Enter through the porch into the open plan kitchen dining area with comfortable seating area which looks out to the generous decked area. On this floor there are two double bedrooms and the master bedroom which has a large window and seating to again take in the countryside views and beyond. Also conveniently located on the ground floor is the family bathroom which has a bath with shower over so is perfect for a relaxing soak after your day’s activities

Upstairs there is a further double bedroom in the eves with an en-suite bathroom with walk in shower.

The garden wraps around the whole property with steps and rockery whilst to the front of the bungalow is a spacious decked balcony again to enjoy the fabulous long reaching views towards the estuary and beyond.

A two minutes’ drive or fifteen minutes stroll will take you into the bustling village Arnside centre on the coastline with shore walks and the pier. The railway station is passed on route to the centre so is very handy where you can hop a train and cross the estuary and be in pretty coastal Edwardian town of Grange Over Sands in eight minutes or further up the west coast. In the opposite direction in the neighbouring village of Silverdale a few minutes train ride or just a 10 minute drive minutes away is Leighton moss RSPB in Silverdale and more glorious walks.

There is wonderful walking from the door to discover Arnside Knott and the shore which affords superb views out to Morecambe bay estuary and the Lakeland fells. The countryside views from the cottage can also be walked from the cottage by taking the public footpath over to railway line across the fields to fairy steps. See if you can take the challenge of fairy steps folklore and be granted a wish. You are spoilt for choice with local walks in this lovely area of outstanding natural beauty as there are walks in all directions from the door. Arnside Knott also has wild deer, wildflowers and rare butterflies as well as outstanding vistas. In Silverdale, The Wolfhouse Gallery is also an interesting stop with a gallery, working local artists and a lovely café with delicious food. Within Arnside, there are two dog friendly pubs serving food, a variety of cafes and the infamous fish and chip shop, but do get their early as it’s exceedingly popular.

Just 25 minutes away are two historic houses with the 13th Century, Levens Hall with gardens dating back to the 1600s and its world class topiary and majestic Sizergh castle and grounds just outside Kendal. The market town of Kendal is an interesting market town which has festivals throughout the year and has an array of cobbled streets and yards and is known as the gateway to the lakes with the river Kent running through. From here Windermere is also just 20 minutes away. The hardest decision could well be how to fit everything in.

High Croft is an ideal choice to enjoy your holiday with your four legged family members all year round.

NB: The garden wraps around and has both landscape and natural steps. The decked area may be slippy when wet or frosty, care should be taken.
