A fantastically situated 2 bedroom holiday cottage in the small hamlet of Clappersgate near Ambleside. Set in a traditional 18th Century Lake District stone building, yet finished to a modern standard. Perched on the hillside overlooking magnificent views across the Lake Windermere and the fells beyond. The town of Ambleside is within easy walking distance at only 1 mile away. In Ambleside you can find a choice of restaurants, shops and cafes, handily located for your stay.

The accommodation is all on one level. You enter the property into the large open plan kitchen diner. The kitchen is bright, clean and fully equipped with all you will need for your stay, and the dining table is a great place for you to enjoy your well-earned meal after a day on the fells. 

Just off the kitchen diner is the large and comfortable living room with wood burner and large TV. The exposed wood beams and roof windows make this an impressive space for socialising or snuggle up with a good book in front of the real fire.

The corridor from the kitchen leads to the two spacious bedrooms, one has a double bed and the other has a king size bed each bedroom also has a wall mounted TV which is perfect for getting comfy and having an early night or late starts. Both bedrooms have a modern en-suite shower room. 

There is an additional, separate WC just off the corridor.

Outside there's a cobbled area, A table and chairs are provided, so you can enjoy a coffee in the morning while taking in the view. Across the road, there is a communal garden with direct access to the River Brathay, along with a large grassed area with seating on the riverside. There are boat hooks provided for securing kayaks and canoes. Please note there is a steep ladder down into the water. If you are thinking of bringing a kayak, please call for more details. Access to the River is across the main road 100 yards from the cottage.

Parking is available for 1 car or possibly 2 by arrangement.

NB: Please note the driveway to this property is steep but short, with a couple of tight bends making it possibly unsuitable for low suspension vehicles.
