Description
Situated in the small hamlet of Clappersgate only 15 minutes walk from Ambleside, The Old Dairy is the perfect bolt hole for those wishing to get away from it all. Once upon a time it was the old dairy to the former manor 'The Croft' set just behind the cottage, originally built around 1830 for a wealthy Liverpool sugar merchant.
The owners of The Old Dairy, Alison & Mark spent a long time searching for just the right property, since then they have made lots of good quality improvements and also retained lots of the original features including the hayloft which is now the perfect place to hide with a good book. Their love for the property and the area really shows, with lots of quirky niknaks, pretty fabrics and comfy furniture, all making this the perfect place to stay.
Entrance is into the hallway with space for boots and coats. The kitchen is perfect for two and is well equipped with everything you could need including a washer/dryer, fridge with ice compartment and a view over the cobbled courtyard at the front. The shower room has large walk in shower, sink and w.c, underfloor heating and heated towel rail... beautifully cosy with plenty of space to warm your towels. The bedroom is very pretty and romantic with a high ceiling, wardrobe, chest of drawers and double bed. The lounge / dining room looks out over the courtyard and has a solid wood floor, a comfy leather sofa, separate chair, flatscreen tv and electric fire inset also dining table and chairs to one side. Above the lounge is the hayloft, with it's own comfy seat and window, no better place to escape to with a book. (please bear in mind the low ceiling).
The Old Dairy has it's own slate bench overlooking the courtyard and guests also benefit from the use of a beautiful shared riverside garden just across the road , with seating overlooking the river .Parking for 1 car directly outside. The property benefits from gas central heating and wifi throughout.
What's included?

This is just to 'start you off'; you will need to buy your own once these have run out.
