Half Term Days Out in the Lake District

We are gearing up for the first half term of 2018 and if today’s weather is anything to go by it should be a glorious one! If you're looking for a day out with the family then why not check out some of the activities below, we can’t guarantee the sunshine, but we can guarantee that you’ll find plenty of things to see and do this February Half term in the Lake District.

Peter Rabbit Tea Parties-World of Beatrix Potter - Bowness-on-Windermere

Enjoy a scrumptious party lunch of sandwiches, sausage rolls, crisp’s, and cakes galore with Peter Rabbit.  A guest of honour will read The Tale of Peter Rabbit and every child receives a present and a balloon.  Your ticket also includes entry into the exhibition before the party.  Fun for all the family! All parties start at 3:30pm and lasts 2 hours.

Saturday 10th February-15.30-5.00pm, Ticket Prices: Adults £15.50, Children £13.50

The attraction is also open 7 days a week entrance: Adults £7.95, Children £3.95

Crawl in the Hall- Abbot Hall Gallery, Kendal

A weekly event for under 5s is inspired by the art and museum collections and exhibitions at Abbot Hall Art Gallery and Museum of Lakeland Life & Industry. Join local artist, Rachel Kelly, who will lead fun, creative and multi-sensory sessions that encourage expression, exploration, language, and movement for under 5s and their parent/guardian. Each session is different with a mixture of storytelling, song, and play-based learning.Meet at 10.00am in the Bakestone Café at Abbot Hall for a 10.15am start, and show your booking receipt (on a mobile is fine). The sessions will finish at 11.00am but you are welcome to stay in the Gallery or Bakestone for longer.

The crawl is on every Friday during half term: Adults £7.00, Children Free.

The first Crawl in the Hall session on 9 February is free and includes a free hot beverage in the Bakestone Café afterwards.

Brockhole-Windermere

Brockhole visitors centre located between Windermere and Ambleside has activities to enjoy for all the family. On the shores of Lake Windermere in exquisite grounds, there really is something for everyone with special events for half term.

February Family Fun Trail - 10 - 25 February; £3 including prize.

Simply pick up your trail from the shop and follow the trail around our stunning grounds and shake off those winter blues, complete the activities and win a prize! Family friendly fun, suitable for all ages. Just turn up! Appropriate footwear advised.

Magical Minibeasts - 12 February

Meet Dude the bearded dragon and Toady the cane toad, plus Madagascan hissing cockroaches, stick insects, giant African land snails and many more minibeasts. Get the opportunity to handle them and find out about their habitats too.

£5 children, £2 adults accompanying children.Sessions at 11am, 12 noon, 1.30pm and 2.30pm (children must be accompanied by an adult).Face painting by a professional will also be available on 14th and 16th February from11am to 3pm. £3 per child or adult!
