Good Life Lake District Cottages have been moving into exciting new areas, and one of these is Newby Bridge. A great location at the head of Lake Windermere to explore the Lake District National Park.

Centrally located and only a short drive from the motorway network, Newby Bridge is an ideal location to base yourself for your holiday. There is so much to do only a short distance away, we have chosen a selection of days out which you can enjoy but the list is endless...


Home to the famous sticky toffee pudding, need I go on! Cartmel has become a foodies must go destination but as well as the world-famous restaurants  L’Enclume and Rogan & Co. The streets are full of artisan and antique shops. A pretty village which has so much to offer Cartmel is also home to Cartmel Priory, stepped in culture and rich with history, the Priory is found at the very heart of Cartmel village, surrounded by the picturesque English countryside, and gives a warm welcome to everyone who comes to experience it.

Look out for race days at Cartmel racecourse, the whole village comes alive and is truly a great day out.

Lake Cruises

Windermere Lake Cruises has a stop at Lakeside Pier close to Newby Bridge which gives you the opportunity to leave the car and explore England's largest lake.

Offering cruises from 45 minutes to 3 hours, you can even spend all day on and around the lake with our fantastic Freedom of the Lake ticket.You can also break your journey with some fantastic local attractions giving you the perfect day out.

Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway

Jump aboard a magnificent steam train at Lakeside for an enchanting journey to Haverthwaite. You will feel like you've been transported back in time. At Haverthwaite you can enjoy the Jubilee Woodland Adventure Playground In the beautiful woodland surroundings & picnic area.

Lakes Aquarium

Located at Lakeside the Lakes Aquarium is perfect for one of those occasional rainy days you may experience. With over 30 displays it gives you an incite of what freshwater creatures and wildlife live in the Lake.

Don’t miss out on the restaurant and gift shop with panoramic views of Lake Windermere.

Woodside Cottage

Only a short distance from Newby Bridge is one of our new properties. A beautifully restored, 250 year old former mill cottage - Woodside Cottage.

Awe-inspiring walks can be found on your doorstep, with Lakeside, High Dam and Lake Windermere all only a short walk away.

Woodside Cottage is a character terraced cottage steeped in history as it was once a mill workers lodging house for the Stott Park Bobbin Mill. It has been renovated to a high standard offering all you expect from a modern cottage with the history and features of a 225-year-old property.

Woodside Cottage accommodates 6 people with 3 bedrooms so that your nearest and dearest can also share our new hidden gem. There is also, of course, room for two of your four-legged friends as well - you wouldn't want to explore this magical part of the world without them.

Outside there is are 2 enclosed gardens, a cottage garden with a picnic bench where you can hear the bubbling sound of a stream whilst you relax and enjoy your surroundings. The patio garden just off the kitchen provides a great space for entertaining with a table and BBQ.

Child-Friendly. A high chair, stair gate and travel cot are all available in the property and even a box of toys for your children to enjoy.

WIFI is included throughout the property so you can upload those life changing views to your Instagram.

There is also off road car parking provided for 2 cars.
