As we head into November the mornings are crisper and the nights are darker and the more organised amongst us turn our attention to Christmas preparation’s once bonfire night is out of the way.

Here in the Lake District Autumn is a quite magical time with local village bonfire and firework displays along with quaint Christmas markets it really is a fantastic time to visit and a fantastic place to shop for unique and thoughtful Christmas gifts which are exclusive to us here in the Lake District.

Hawkshead Relish

The Hawkshead Relish Company is an artisan producer of award winning preserves based in the historic village of Hawkshead in the heart of the English Lake District. With over 120 relishes, pickles, and preserves handmade and using locally sourced ingredients you can find the perfect gift for the foodie in your life and their website also offers great recipe ideas for their products which can be found in their flagship store in Hawkshead as well as many gift shops and grocers in the area.

Chocolate Cottage Grasmere

Located beneath our fabulous cottage Spinners in Grasmere, Chocolate cottage offer delicious handmade chocolates which are made on the premises and are a truly unique and delicious treat for the chocolate lover in your life. The shop also stocks a host of Lakeland inspired gifts, including Peter Rabbit, Kendal mint cake and Lakeland inspired hampers perfect for those who can’t get enough of the Lake District!

The Herdy Company has a fabulous range of brightly coloured homeware, gifts and accessories inspired by our most famous Lake District resident the Herdwick sheep. Lakes Distillery 

The Lakes Distillery, Setmurthy, near Bassenthwaite Lake, is a driving force behind a revolution of 'new world' whisky distilleries. As an English distillery based in the heart of the Lake District the contemporary family of brands must speak for themselves. With Whiskey, Gin and Vodka made using water straight from the river Derwent the Distillery offers unique spirits as well as a great day out for those interested in the process of making their favourite tipple.

Love the Lakes specialise in gorgeous gifts for the family, including body care products, jewellery, fragrances, photos, print, cards and more. Shops are in Bowness-on- Windermere and Keswick and available online. Most items are locally sourced - made in Cumbria and the Lake District.
