Keswick Mountain Festival will be taking place between 15th–18th May 2014. From humble beginnings to this years expertly organised event, Keswick Mountain Festival offers something for all.
The Festival Village is located on the shores of Derwentwater at Crow Park, and is the heart of the Keswick Mountain Festival. The Festival Village is packed full of exhibitor displays, interactive demonstrations, taster activites, local food stalls, the Tirol Mountain Hut and a main stage hosting a live-music line-up in the evening. It is the hub from where many of the great activities begin and the perfect place to get in the mood for outdoor action.
Events include the Latrigg fell race, two moonlight swims, the Keswick 42k trail marathon, the Mountain Festival Triathlons, a 70km Sportive and many more.
Music over the weekend performed by Hothouse Flowers, Ade Edmunson and the Bad Shepards, The Feeling, Stornaway and others.
Elsewhere in town the Theatre by the Lake is hosting a series of Speakers including talks by Alan Hinkes the only Brit to climb all 14 of the worlds 8000m+ mountains. Sir Ranulph Fiennes ‘the worlds greatest living explorer’, Keri-Anne Payne Britains’ best open water swimmer and Joss Naylor the legendary fell runner.
