Tough Mudder & Cancer Research

As mentioned a few posts ago Heather & I are running in Novembers ‘Tough Mudder Challenge’. 12 miles of mud and difficult terrain with 25+ obstacles thrown in the way. Our aim is to raise money for Cancer Research UK. Last year our friend Chris lost his wife Myra to cancer. At some point in life nearly everybody will be effected by cancer either directly or by association with a friend or relative. 1 in 3 people will suffer from a form of cancer, Cancer research has saved millions of lives, further research will help millions more.
This is Heathers’ first ‘Mud Run’ & my second, we’ve been training together for several months. Tough Mudder isn’t a race so we’ll do the course at our own pace (probably finishing around the 3.5 hour mark) I think the best we can hope for in terms of November weather will be ‘Above Freezing’ but I can’t imagine we’ll be dry or warm during any of the course (with the possible exception of the ‘Fire walker’ obstacle).
