Everybody needs a holiday

It can be quite difficult taking time off when you’re self employed, even more so if your business doesn’t stop when you do. Thankfully this year Heather & I have been provided with help from a most welcome quarter.

Whilst we are away during early October the office, our cottages & our guests will be looked after by Heathers’ mum Ann and her partner Lynda. They have generously given up their time for 3 weeks so that we can take some time away with the kids. This week has been spent training and familiarizing them with our office systems and all our cottages. From Sunday 30th they’ll be thrown in at the deep end as we depart for warmer weather.

Both Ann & Lynda have done very well cramming a great deal of information into a very short space of time but please bear with them as they continue to learn ‘on the job’. Office hours will remain as normal 9 to 5, Monday to Saturday & Wendy (our regular part timer) will be here to help on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. I’m sure Ann & Lynda will be fine however I’m equally sure they’ll be ready for us to return and probably need a holiday of their own in the near future (I know what I’m doing, but when Heather went away for a week in January  I was ready to drop by the time she returned).

This will be my last blog for a few weeks but to all our guests who we’ll miss whilst we’re away, we hope you have a great time…and be nice to our replacements :-)
