Zeffirellis - more than just a cinema

t’s always nice to be able to enthuse about something local. Because of the level of interest in all things Lake District we get a lot of visitors all year round, this means our community gets many benefits that other low population areas don’t have. One of these benefits is the local cinema with 5 screens in a village with a resident population of only a few thousand.
We get all the big films but also get Art House & foreign films. Zeffirellis also has a vegetarian restaurant & a sister restaurant Fellinis which serves up (vegetarian)Mediterranean style meals. The cinema screen above Fellinis is often used to stream West End productions & musicals so no need for a trip to London for us. Zefirellis Jazz Cafe next door to the cinema has live music events most Wednesday, Friday & Saturday nights then during the day they serve fantastic tea and cake.
My recommendation would be try the ‘meal deal’ with reserved seats for the film of your choice after you have eaten. I’d also give a special mention for the Souffle starter which has been my favourite for years + the Mexican Pizza which for the meat eaters (like me) barely registers as veggie. I never tire of going to Zeffirellis & we now include the latest listings with the welcome pack in our cottages.
Overall Zeffirellis offers an experience totally different to mainstream cinemas, something we hope it continues to do for many years to come.
