With a little bit of child free time to ourselves yesterday Heather & I thought a trip to our local was in order.
‘The Brit’ is a fantastic pub which has provided teenage employment to generations of our family (currently our eldest two kids work there as Chef & Waiting on staff) so obviously we have a soft spot for it. Even without our weighty recommendation it has long been known as a champion for ‘real ale’ and great ‘pub grub’. We got our drinks and sat out on the terrace in the sun, mostly enjoying being nosey at the comings and goings of the village around us.
The Brit has always been dog friendly and plenty of walkers & their pooches were also enjoying an end of walk pint. During the winter the pub is always warm with open fires knocking out enough heat to set your wet waterproofs steaming.
The Brit’s staff are well known for their entertaining & sometimes irreverent service (which can surprise the more straight laced customers used to faceless service by staff who don’t care). All in all we love our local and long may it continue to serve the needs of both locals and visitors alike.
