...isn’t all about tradition.
Last night was Curry night in our house for the past few years this has been rechristened ‘Starly’s night. Starly’s Spices are a fantastic way to produce authentic indian meals with ease. Simple instructions mean even I have been able to make meals that taste fantastic & the instructions even add tips for adjusting each meal to your preference. We slow cook many of them because we can put a meal on in the morning , leave it and it’s ready for when we finish work. Last nights effort was Chicken Korma (kids love it) with rice and Starly’s Onion Bhaji mix.
The best thing about it (other than taste) is that Starly’s spice mixes are produced right here in Cumbria. The business is run by husband & wife team Steven and Carly who live in Orton. They are passionate about their products and now produce 14 different varieties of spice blends. Everything we’ve tried so far meets the ‘I’d like to lick the plate clean’ standard. We’ve not braved the Satans Ashes blend yet but in time we’ll get there.
Steven & Carly also have a bistro in Staveley which is open on Friday – Saturday night form 6pm until late, you can book a table or collect a take-away. Supporting local business is important to us & Starly’s make it easy by producing a product that we feel is the best on the market not only locally but on a national level.
They will have a stand at this weekend’s Leven’s Hall Chilli Festival, if you are going they’ll be well worth a look.
