Dog walking country

Apparently about 30% of British people own a dog, I’d be willing to bet that a far greater percentage of Lake District visitors own a dog & bring their furry friend on holiday with them.

Most of our cottages are dog friendly, over the years we’ve had very little dog related damage (certainly less than people related damage anyway). It’s such a large part of the visitor market in our area that nearly all the pubs welcome dogs along with a lot of the attractions.

Many of our guests come back to The Lakes every year, their dogs become so familiar with the routine that it’s like coming home. Some of these dogs have bagged every Wainwright fell in their time. What better way to see our countryside than walking your faithful friend. If you play your cards right they’ll even carry your packed lunch for you.
